"Uncle Pat" Hardage

PineWoodDerbyWorkshop began in my garage with my Cub Scout's Wolf Den in 1994, and we made sawdust there till I retired from High School teaching in 2013 and moved to Missouri.  The PineWoodDerbyWorkshop "just sort of growed" from there.

When we moved, my Texas Scouting Friends asked for support with their PineWood Derby cars . . .  so I refitted a 1987 forty-foot charter bus into a rolling woodshop.  Near as I can tell, it's the only one of its kind in the country.

I started Cub Scouts as a kid in 1952 back in Amarillo.  Since then I've been a Den Leader, a Cubmaster, and a Scoutmaster.  Now I'm just "Uncle Pat."

I love building PineWoodDerby cars in my woodshop, and I've started to expand to other small shop projects . . . whistles, neckerchief slides, small boxes, birdhouses . . .

I really enjoy watching kids' faces (and their parents') when they figure out a particularly tricky bit.
