UIC College of Medicine Urban Health Program

The College of Medicine Urban Health Program (COM-UHP) is the largest and oldest of the six (6) Urban Health Programs in the University of Illinois Health Science Colleges serving annually nearly 400 African-American, Hispanic/Latino, and Native American students across all four of the  College of Medicine sites. It has contributed to the graduation of over 2,000 minority physicians since its inception in 1969.

 

The College of Medicine Urban Health Program (COM-UHP), where our mission is to recruit, retain, and graduate underrepresented racial/ethnic minority students—specifically African American, Latinx, and Native Americans—into medicine with the goals of eliminating health disparities and advancing health equity.  Our services include student advising and preparation in the medical school application process.  Students are welcomed to arrange an appointment in person or by phone for consultation.
