Toledo & NW Ohio Cornucopia

Toledo & NW Ohio Cornucopia is a 501(c)(3) community outreach organization serving Toledo, NW Ohio and SE Michigan.  T&NWOC provides assistance and advocacy to families, individuals, children, seniors the disabled, veterans and military families in our covered area who are struggling or facing unforeseen situations causing them financial and emotional hardship. T&NWOC is an organization of neighbors helping neighbors, connecting those in need with those who can help. Through donations received from T&NWOC online Members, Business Sponsors and the community, we provide food, clothing, household items, appliances, diapers, formula, baby gear, pet food, and more. Everything provided is absolutely free to those who come to us in need. T&NWOC further provides resources and referrals to local agencies and organizations that can be of assistance, advocacy and personal representative services.

T&NWOC is a volunteer-based organization bringing neighbors together in a socially binding manner to create bonds of friendship while working side by side, getting to know each other, thereby strengthening our Community. Through a variety of programs, activities and events, T&NWOC offers opportunities for everyone, regardless of age or physical ability, to volunteer or perform community service hours.

The Cornucopia Food Pantry provides our neighbors with a source for nutritious supplemental groceries to help with meals. Open every Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., those in need may visit weekly. Serving over 200 families each week, the Pantry is supported by community food drives, donations and government programs managed by Seagate Food Bank. Additional food and basic necessities are acquired from monetary donations that allow T&NWOC to purchase food through Enpuzzlement and other sources. The Center is open throughout the week to serve those in need of food, clothing, diapers, incontinence supplies, pet food, hygiene items and other basic necessities of daily living. Our Homebound Food Assistance program provides delivery of food and other needs to those who have mobility and health issues certified by a physician. In addition, T&NWOC offers events, educational and informative seminars promoting personal and intellectual growth, heath and wellness, and activities that strengthen family bonds and relationships; children's programs that promote culture and development of talent, creativity, positive reinforcement, good behavior and respect for others; and programs that benefit seniors and the disabled, providing them with companionship, interaction and purpose. We believe in providing those we serve with dignity, compassion and kindness. We encourage personal responsibility through our “hand-up” assistance programs and set forth expectations of giving back to help others, follow-up and follow-thru in connection with acquiring assistance offered by local resources and our advocacy and personal representative services.
