The Municipal Art Society, Summit for New York City

The Municipal Art Society is the leading organization dedicated to improving New York City's built environment. Founded in 1893, MAS is committed to making New York a more livable city through education, dialogue and advocacy for intelligent urban planning, design and preservation.

Throughout its history, MAS has been at the forefront of some of New York City’s – and the country’s – most significant preservation victories, including the campaign to save Grand Central Station, Radio City Music Hall, and other treasured New York landmarks.

Today, MAS continues to play an important role in the debate over the city’s built environment, providing planning expertise, guidance and advocacy.  MAS helped shape the City’s master plan for the redevelopment of Coney Island and is the leading advocate for efforts to transform the Farley Post Office into Moynihan Station, a major transportation hub for the region.
