The Ivy Foundation

The Ivy Foundation of Washington, D.C., a 501(c) (3) organization, was established in 1986 by members of Xi Zeta Omega Chapter, of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. The purpose of the Foundation is to provide opportunities for young people to achieve healthy and productive outcomes, support academic achievement and higher education, promote community economic development, and encourage volunteerism through community service.

The Foundation supports a host of programs in fulfillment of its mission.  Such programs include scholarships for high school seniors based on need and academic achievement; support to senior citizens; contributions to health-related initiatives; activities to strengthen children and families; embracing diversity; promoting collaboration; emphasizing prevention strategies through volunteerism; and youth development projects that promote academic excellence, leadership, and community pride.

Donations to the Foundation are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
