The Institute for the Improvement of Teaching and Learning, Inc. (nonprofit)

The A-STEP After School Tutoring and Enrichment Program provides tutoring to students whose families cannot afford to hire a tutor to help them improve their academic performance to prevent them from experiencing school failure, and eventually dropping out of school.

The A-STEP Program served 30 children in our first year out of our one center. This year, our 2nd year, we served over 200 students in 5 centers in public schools and in public libraries in the District of Columbia. Visit our website at:

We give 2 scholarships each year, to the 2 students who make the greatest gain in their academic grades and attend to most tutoring sessions.

Your tax deductible contributions support us in continuing the A-STEP Tutoring Program, and in being able to award these scholarships to deserving students each year.

We thank you for all of your support and generosity to the children we serve.
