The Great Australian Ride

The Great Australian Ride is an organised motorcycle adventure ride that aims to raise funds and awareness for Red Nose charity (formerly SIDS and Kids).

It all started back in 2011 when GAR founder, Stuart Ball, embarked upon an epic solo adventure to ride his motorcycle from the Eastern-most point of Australia, to the Western-most point, Byron Bay to Steep Point. Stuart decided to raise funds and awareness for a charity along the way. After successfully crossing the country from east to west and raising money for charity, Stuart returned home and discovered that other people wanted to be involved in this endeavour.
From 2012, Team GAR was born.
Each year the Great Australian Ride takes off from Byron Bay to cross Australia through some of the most remote and difficult terrain, all the way across to Steep Point in Western Australia. 2017 will see the first GAR double crossing, with a return journey back to Byron Bay.
Since 2011 The Great Australian Ride has raised over $290,000 for charity and continues to raise funds for Red Nose.
