The Food Lens is a curated website that enables the culinarily curious to discover or rediscover Boston’s dining scene. Avid travelers who call Boston home, Founders Molly Ford and Sarah Jesup forged a friendship over a mutual love of food. Time and again during their many trips, they realized the restaurants recommended by crowd-sourced sites and lauded as the latest, greatest addition to a city’s dining scene often paled in comparison to the stalwarts and recent additions suggested by locals. They found that people who call a city home experience its dining scene as it was intended to be enjoyed: regularly, repeatedly and without the intent to draw anything from the experience beyond sustenance and enjoyment. As this was reinforced, the duo realized that it is experience, not education or professional title, which enables one to serve as a restaurant resource. 

 

Launched in spring 2017, The Food Lens is a guide for diners looking to explore Boston’s restaurant landscape. There are only so many meals in life – and to make sure their readers don’t waste a single one, there is no place Ford and Jesup won’t travel, or food they won’t try.
