The Barnes Family & Towson State Univeristy Black Alumni Alliance

The Barnes-Harris Scholarship is an endowment created to honor the two pioneers at Towson State University, Marvis Barnes and Myra Harris. The purpose of the Barnes-Harris scholarship is to offer financial support to incoming freshman who attended a metropolitan public high school and plans to enroll full-time (12 or more credits) at Towson State University. In addition to the financial need of the applicant, the incoming freshman must demonstrate how he/she possesses a “strong allegiance to the African-American culture”.
