The Afro American Newspaper

At the core, the AFRO is a family business. Founded by an enslaved man - with a $200 gift from his wife and a dream, the AFRO’s founders, John and Martha Howard Murphy are a prime example of turning hope into a reality with hard work, persistence, and some business savvy.

129 years later, the AFRO (led by 4th and 5th generation descendants) is creating a platform for emerging (and seasoned) businesses to establish themselves as pillars in the business community through education and the necessary tools to build generational wealth.
