Team Repair
Team Repair is a startup teaching children science, tech, & repair. We are on a mission to encourage children from all backgrounds to pursue science, technology, engineering & maths (STEM), and to mitigate the e-waste crisis by teaching the next generation how to repair and not replace their broken goods. Our repair kits let 8-14 year-olds get hands-on with real products, developing an intrinsic interest in how things work - inspiring them to pursue a STEM career - and also learning the lifeskill of repair, allowing them to live more sustainably.
We emphasise the real-world applicability of STEM that isn’t taught in schools by giving children electronic gadgets with carefully planned faults to take apart, tinker with, and fix. We cover topics within and beyond the school curriculum like circuits, motors, and batteries, as well as climate change, sustainable careers, and e-waste. We also teach practical skills, like how to use different tools, safe practices for repair, and creative problem solving.
