Syma ceramic artist

In addition to her practice as a ceramic artist, which has resulted in commissions and exhibitions around the United States and internationally; Syma has been a free-lance museum educator at the Metrpolitan Museum of Art since 1999. She leads family programs, and school programs in the museum galleries.
Syma has led family art-making workshops in the United States and in the United Kingdom since 1980.  Venues include the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Arts and Design, the Asia Society Museum, and Greenwich House Pottery in New York City; the British Museum in London, UK, and in her own studio workspace.
On Saturday February 17, Syma led a drop in Family Workshop at the Asia Society Museum: participants made small clay and mixed media dogs to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Recently Syma led a Drop-in Family Studio Workshop at the Met Museum: CLAY MAGIC BOWLS.
And on Sunday June 24, Syma launched a new season of Family Workshops in her new sun-filled, spacious studio, with a private family workshop.
