Support Sisterz

We are a non-profit organization comprised of breast cancer survivors that have a passion to empower other women who are fighting the same battle. We started as a group of eight women that meet monthly to support one another. All of us have brought friends to our meetings that are in need of moral support. We believe that women learn and benefit from hearing other’s experiences with treatment and reconstruction.
Between the eight of us, we have experienced it all! Lumpectomy, mastectomy, hysterectomy, expander/implant reconstruction, lat-flap reconstruction, BRCA positive, chemotherapy, radiation, hormone therapy, and hair loss to name a few.
There was originally nine Support Sisterz. In March 2015, we lost our beloved Sister, Cindy Moore. Cindy was somewhat apprehensive when we first invited her to join our group lunches. It took a bit of encouragement, but she finally joined us one afternoon… reluctantly. That day was life changing for Cindy, and her outlook would never be the same. She felt that having Support Sisterz who truly understood what it meant to live life with cancer made her journey so much easier. Cindy’s enthusiasm and love for the group was contagious. She designed and ordered the first Support Sisterz t-shirts for us to proudly wear in support of this cause. In continuing to grow and help others, we do so in her honor.

Our goal as Support Sisterz is to empower women from Norco, Corona and Eastvale that have been diagnosed with breast cancer. We started providing gift baskets to those that have been recently diagnosed. The contents of these baskets are full of love, hope, and items that will help them to get through this journey. In addition to the gift baskets and meetings we are there for our sisters in any way we can be. We accompany them to Dr. visits, help with housekeeping, getting children to school, etc.

As our little group grew so did our passion to help. We decided that we wanted to reach more women and help on a larger scale. Our desire is to offer financial aid to women in need by paying medical bills and assist in the purchase of wigs, prosthetics and under garments.
There are so many women fighting cancer who have unmet needs, Through Combat Cancer Walk we hope to ease some of that financial burden as well as love and support them through their battle so they know they will never have to fight alone.
