Studio 229 on Brevard

Studio 229 on Brevard is the home of CBK Branding & Consulting Firm LLP. Owned by Kevin and Monique Douglas. It is a multi-purpose facility where History, Humanity & Artistry Intersect. It is located within a history block of Charlotte NC which was known as the Black Wall Street of the city in the 1900's. It holds rich history as it is nestled between the historic Mecklenburg Investment Company (MIC) Building whose doors opened in 1922 and the historic Grace. Formerly one of the first AME Zion Church's formed by emancipated slaves in the 1800's in wood and whose brick version was dedicated in 1901. Also among the last remants of a neighborhood known as Brooklyn (now 2nd Ward) which was torn down during Urban Renewal in the 1960's-early 70's.

We are here to honor that history and pass on the sories and to pick up the work the founders of these buildings were engaged in which centered around Social Consiousness, Economic & Upward Mobility & Entrepreneurship. We offer programming opportunities for personal & professional development and work force development for both youth and adults in the community.

We are also know as a location that amplifies both local musical & visual artists primarily on the weekends. Whether you are here for photography, videography, branding, consulting, attending one of our community programing events or for a live music event we know you will enjoy the positive vibes and hospitality we pride ourselves in. Our hope is that you will walk away with so much more than you came with when you entered our location and that you will meet others for the sake of collaborations for the greater good of our community.
