The members of our young adult group are Chicago Catholics in their 20s and 30s committed to learning about the beauty of the Catholic Faith and living it out in its fullness. As taught by St. Josemaría Escriva, a patron of Saint Mary of the Angels parish, the Faith is not something that should be only lived out on Sunday, but rather it is to be incorporated into everything that we do in our work, at home, in our families, and all our daily tasks.
We have three regular events every month: a speaker, adoration, and Mass. All three offer great opportunities to meet fellow awesome Catholics, and we can’t wait to get to know you! Specifics for each month will be publicized via our emails (sign up above!) and facebook. Bring a friend!
Escriva Speaker Series (Thursdays) – Dinner, a speaker, time for socializing, what more could you want? Topics cover the whole range of Catholic life and theology, and you’re sure to come away feeling energized.
Adoration (Thursdays) – Take some time out of your busy week and bring it all to the Lord. We designate one evening of adoration a month as a chance to come together and pray as a group before the Blessed Sacrament.
Young Adult Mass and Social (Sundays) – A much-loved tradition, our monthly mass starts off with the rosary at 6:50pm. Mass is at 7:15pm, and then we head out for drinks and social time. Want to help lead the rosary, bring up gifts, or take up the collection? Just say the word!
We have plenty of other things going on besides our monthly slate. From August to September, we co-host theTheology Uncorked speaker series with Quo Vadis, the Saint John Cantius young adult group. For Memorial Day and Labor Day, we organize a BBQ in the Saint Mary of the Angels parking lot. We also host an annual New Years Eve of the Eve Gala. Service and social justice projects have included prayer in front of Planned Parenthood and volunteering with a mobile food pantry. For the latest information on these events and opportunities, see our Facebook page or our webpage on the parish website.
