SPMA MIDTOWN VANGUARD JAZZ SERIES

Van·guard ˈvanˌɡärd - noun- A group of people leading the way in new developments or ideas. A position at the forefront of new developments or ideas.
Jazz Musicians who play MVJ embrace the definition of Vanguard in their Art of Music.
Midtown Vanguard Jazz Series, is hosted by 501c3 Nonprofit Organization: Sacramento Preparatory Music Academy, on second and fourth Sundays of the month at The Auditorium.
Dedicated & leading the way in supporting New Acoustic Jazz Music in Sacramento, by providing a platform for Artists & Jazz Composers to present public performances of their music, and to increase community awareness of the importance of artistic expression for individual satisfaction and growth. MVJ is an Artist Series for the benefit of the Artists. Sac Prep Music Academy, through it’s Mission, provides lighting, sound system & our beautiful Seven Foot Baldwin Grand Piano, and sets the stage and events with community volunteers. The Auditorium at CLARA has proved to be a perfect space for MVJ Series to present music from Trios to Big Bands, and has excellent natural acoustics for audiences up to 180 patrons.
