South Palm Beach Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc

The South Palm Beach County Alumnae Chapter (SPBCAC) was chartered on March 9, 1984 witnessed by 50 Sorors from neighboring chapters, 26 members of the Delray Beach Alumnae Chapter were duly charted by Regional Director Verdelle Bellamy. Following the March 9thformal chartering ceremony, 21 Deltas from Lake Worth, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and Boca Raton celebrated with the community. A gala luncheon was held and the group’s theme Deltas Linked Together for Service was unveiled.


This milestone was the closing of a two year process which consisted of service projects related to senior citizens, tutorial assistance for students and family activities.


For the past 30 years The SPBCAC has served as a visible organization in The South Palm Beach Area where youth, adults and families are exposed to empowering and uplifting seminars; workshops and a variety of community services tailored to meet their needs.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization founded on January 13, 1913 on the campus of Howard University to promote academic excellence; to provide scholarships; to provide support to the underserved; to educate and stimulate participation in the establishment of positive public policy; and to highlight issues and provide solutions for problems impacting our communities. 

A sisterhood of more than 200,000 predominately Black college educated women, the Sorority currently has over 900 chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas and the Republic of Korea. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization's Five Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health and Political Awareness and Involvement.
