In behalf of BOTH Sierra Madre Elementary and Middle Schools, Sierra Madre AFB produces annual benefit-events to fund vital salaries and programs otherwise not covered by district or federal budgets. AFB funds are allocated as follows: each Spring, teachers and administration at each school update their respective priority list for the following school year, thereby establishing the budget submitted to PUSD, and where AFB funds will be used first if the district does not provide in certain areas. AFB are then drawn by each school (from the previous year's proceeds) based on each school's anticipated attendance. This entire process witnessed and approved by School Site Council at each school, made up by a panel of teachers and parents.
