Hi! welcOMe! Shannon Somogyi here, RVA native and Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapy. Also an E-RYT200, RYT500, RCYT, YACEP w/Yoga Alliance. I've practiced for over 20 years and taught for the past 5. My first 200 hour training was in family yoga, learning to teach yoga to all members of the family from infants to seniors. Including specialized training in teaching yoga to differently-abled children with ADD, ADHD, Autism, SPD, Dyslexia, Downs, etc. After my 200 I took numerous other trainings and eventually found my way to Yoga Therapy training, completing it in June of 2015. Since then I had the honor of receiving a full scholarship to Kripalu for their 10 day Yoga In Schools training in July 2016, teaching a Harvard researched and backed curriculum to adolescents. I'll be rolling this curriculum out at VCU in the spring! I have proudly served as an ambassador for local non-profit, Project Yoga Richmond, bringing yoga to underserved populations throught the Richmond area. I've also worked with International non-profit, Go Give Yoga, co-leading a children's yoga teacher training in Appalachia in 2015. I can be found all over Richmond teaching at various studios, gyms, retirement homes, Chesterfield County public schools, events, and more.
