Seeds of Abraham

The mission of Seeds of Abraham is “Planting seeds of respect and relationships amongst the youth of the Knoxville Community.” This is accomplished through our vision to be to be “Youth of all faiths fostering understanding, breaking bread, and building a better tomorrow.”
Seeds of Abraham is an interfaith youth group which meets the third Sunday of each month for the purposes of fellowship and mission projects. All middle and high school youth are welcome, regardless of religion, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, or other potentially dividing factors. There is no cost associated with being a part of the program, and all activities are voluntary. Youth may participate as part of a youth group from their own house of worship or as individuals. The group regularly organizes service projects such as preparing and serving meals for the homeless. We also get together for fun fellowship events such as dinner and laser tag.
The goal of the program is to help youth from many different backgrounds find common ground and see that we are more alike than we are different. Our hope is that these youth will make friends, open up an avenue for conversation, dispel hateful prejudices, open their hearts and minds, and cultivate a culture of peace. We will never encourage youth to change anything about themselves except their preconceived ideas about who their neighbors are.
