SALAM SINGAPORE (MUIS50)

Salam Singapore is a community celebration to express our appreciation to all who have contributed to MUIS, the Muslim community and Singapore throughout the years. This spirit embodied in the word ”Salam” reflects our aspirations for a more gracious and inclusive society.

The three-day event will be filled with numerous activities that will immerse the visitors into the body of work that Muis undertakes with its many partners to serve the needs of the family, community and society to live a faithful, harmonious and peaceful life in our richly diverse and cosmopolitan Singapore.We hope Salam Singapore will further inspire all Singaporeans to contribute towards a confident and resilient Singapore.

--MUIS is celebrating its 50th Anniversary with the community in 2018. But more so than just an anniversary, MUIS is commemorating five decades of success in nurturing a gracious community and inclusive society.

The body has played an integral part in our community’s development. From the beginning, MUIS has shouldered the responsibility of setting the Islamic agenda in Singapore. Under MUIS’ direction, our mosques have transformed from their early days as strictly places of worship – into next-generation mosques that are community-focused spaces for prayer, Islamic education, community engagement and much more.

MUIS also reaches out to inspire volunteerism in our community, aiding our mosques and providing the less fortunate with the assistance they need. And thanks to MUIS’ strategic actions over the decades, the cohesive Singaporean Muslim identity that we know of today, has been forged in our DNA.
