Rowena Aldridge

Rowena Aldridge is a former professional ballerina. costume designer, and stage manager, who now spends her days homeschooling and homemaking.  For 12 years she was the Senior Teaching Artist for dance for the Tennessee Performing Arts Center, doing multiple 3- to 6-week residencies in Aesthetic Education each year in the Metro Nashville Public Schools.  For the past four years she has lead homeschool enrichment programs in science, history, art, and home economics in a studio she and her family built in their backyard.  She is a certified educator in a number of old-school domestic skills, including food preservation (University of Georgia Extension), small space gardening (Square Foot Gardening Foundation), and patternmaking for sewing (Wild Ginger Software, Inc). She is the co-author of "Digital Flat Pattern", the only college-level textbook on digital pattern drafting for the fashion industry. Her writing has appeared in numerous periodicals and she is the author of the devotional "An Everyday Advent: Meditations from the Heart of a Homemaker".  Her underlying passion is empowering others to go out and conquer the world on their own terms.
