Rev. Dr. Suzan Johnson Cook

Dr. Suzan Johnson Cook, affectionately known as Dr. Sujay, is a woman of many strengths, talents and claims to fame.  A resident of Bronx, NY, she is a local community leader, a Pastor, a Mother & Wife, and with offices and ties to Washington, D.C. and beyond she is a positive global influencer.  Dr. Sujay is often referred to as our Nation’s  Spiritual Leader.


Dr. Sujay is Senior Pastor at the Bronx Christian Fellowship Church, which she founded in 1996, and contributes to Asbury United Methodist Church, located in Washington, D.C.  Fall of 2009 marks her celebratory 30th year as a Pastor.  She is proud to be the founder of “Wall Street Wednesdays” services and “Wonderful Washington Worship”.  From 2008-2009 Dr. Sujay was the Host & Founder of “Harlem Hallelujah” at the famed Apollo Theater in New York City. 


In 1996 she received a White House Fellowship and served as a Domestic Policy Advisor for President Bill Clinton.  She also served as a Spiritual Advisor to Barack Obama during his 2008 Presidential campaign.  In 1989, she was the first woman appointed Chaplain of the New York City Police Department.


Dr. Sujay was a close friend and confidante to the late Coretta Scott King, and was honored to be the co-officiator of her service.  She is also the author of nine books including her latest “Moving Up”.  She is a graduate of both Harvard & Columbia Universities.  Currently Dr. Sujay resides in New York with her husband and two sons.  For more information please visit
