Radiology is about the various methods that people can image the internal structures of bodies. It is an important specialty within medicine, but in addition to doctors, is key to radiographers, nurses and midwives. And it doesn’t matter if you want to become a radiologist or not, you will get given an x-ray in your student and professional career by a consultant, and be told “present this to me.”
So what we want to do is make you all bosses at X-rays, and while we’re at it, CTs, MRIs, ultrasounds, and whatever else we can get our hands on!!! We do this by organizing teaching events, and practical events where get together and, in a fun and collective way, develop our interpreting skills until everyone is confident in their radiology skills.
We are an educational society at heart, and alongside the imagery side of things, we also run revision and practice sessions for OSCEs and practical skills for junior medical students.
So join the society, become an X-ray know-it-all (a likeable one of course), and let’s have a laugh while we’re at it. If you want to chat to us first, or see what we are about, you can contact us through our email firstname.lastname@example.org or via our official Facebook page.
