Patrice Gerideau

PATRICE GERIDEAU seeks to serve women at the intersection of life, faith and the arts. She firmly believes in the power of the written, spoken, and performed word to transform lives. She also believes that a woman of God, living on purpose, can change the landscape of her immediate, communal, and global surroundings. To that end, she seeks to educate, edify and empower women through traditional and contemporary expressions of God’s Word.

In 2009, she began Love Speaks Daily, a blog to encourage believers in their walk in Christ Jesus and to encourage future believers to take seriously the call to salvation. In 2013, she debuted her first solo show, Thank You for Staring in Washington, DC. The show traveled to Atlanta, New York City, and Scotland. Patrice prepared for her acting career at the Honors Acting Conservatory of the Theatre Lab School of Dramatic Arts.

In answer to her call to ministry, Patrice graduated with honors from Wesley Theological Seminary with Master of Divinity. At Wesley, she concentrated in urban ministry as well as art and theology. Patrice is the recipient of the 2017 Margaret Pittman Award in Urban Ministry as well as the 2017 Laurence Hull Stookey Award for Outstanding Leadership in Liturgy and Worship.

Patrice also holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Journalism from the University of Georgia. Prior to answering her call to ministry, Patrice worked for over 15 years in the non-profit sector in the areas of communication, training and development. To date, she has taught over 5,000 participants from diverse backgrounds on a variety of topics.

Three of her favorite things are the wisdom of the elders, the laughter of children, and the joy of building sisterhood among women of diverse backgrounds. Three of her greatest influences are her Great Grandaunt Carrie, who taught her radical love and radical hospitality; Great Grandaunt Irene, who taught her the importance of service and education; and Grandaunt Lunetha, who continues to teach her the value of Christian discipline.
