I had a shop in Carrollton in my garage for seventeen years till I retired from teaching high school four years ago.
When we moved to Missouri, my Texas Scouting Friends asked for support with their PineWood Derby cars . . . I refitted a 1987 forty-foot coach bus into a rolling woodshop. Near as I can tell, it's the only one of its kind in the country.
I started as a Cub Scout in 1952 back in Amarillo. Since then I've been a Den Leader, Cubmaster, and Scoutmaster. I started helping other families with their cars when my Eagle Scout was a Wolf Cub twenty years ago. The PineWoodDerbyWorkshop "just sort of growed" from there
I love building PineWoodDerby cars in my woodshop.
I enjoy even more watching kids' faces (and their parents') when they figure out a particularly tricky bit.
