Pastors Greg & Dana Smith & Freedom Worship Center Velburg

Pastor Greg Smith is a native of Kings Mountain, North Carolina USA. While serving in the US Air Force stationed in England in 1983, he and his wife Dana felt the call to ministry after attending a Ministry to the Military Fall Retreat. After leaving the military, both attended and graduated from East Coast Bible College in Charlotte, North Carolina. Greg graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies and a minor in business and Dana a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  For the next 15 years, Greg served in several part-time ministry positions including, youth pastor, young adult pastor, and elder.

In 2000, the Lord began redirecting their paths. Dana was teaching school, and Greg was a successful businessman working for large communications corporation. Through a series of divine interventions, and a clear call to move to Germany, Greg and Dana along with their 3 children left their families, jobs, and church to come pastor a Ministry to the Military Servicemen’s Center in Würzburg, Germany. God blessed their work and even though the US Military withdrew from the area in 2008, Freedom Worship Center continues today reaching German Nationals and International English speaking people from all over the world. In late 2016 pastors Greg and Dana expanded Freedom Worship Center by accepting the responsibility of an existing church in Velburg, Germany area, which is close to the Hohenfels Military Training Ground. FWC is now a multisite church and both Greg and Dana minister at both churches along with a team of excellent campus pastors that assist.

Greg has had the privilege to minister and teach in several countries including Africa, India, Belgium, Latvia, and in several churches throughout Germany. However, his real passion is leading people to a deeper relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. One area that God has especially used him in is in the healing and restoring of the personality. Sadly, many people have been damaged by adverse childhood experiences and various traumas that sometimes prevent them from experiencing the intimate and close relationship that God desires. Greg has extensive training, knowledge, and experience in helping individuals that have retained bad memories from the past including those that suffer from various forms of DID, PTSD, and Ritual Abuse (SRA). Many have been personally helped, and Greg has trained many others to help those that suffer. Since Greg is a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, he also works with those that have opened doors to the demonic that has caused much pain and suffering. When combining the ability to work on the personality, along with the ability to operate in the spiritual realm, healing comes much quicker for those that suffer.

Greg is an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God and holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from the European Theological Seminary in Germany, and Lee University in Cleveland Tennessee. He is Board Certified Christian Counselor (BCCC), and a Board Certified Pastoral Counselor (BCPC) with the International Board of Christian Care (IBCC), and the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). He is also a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISST-D), the European Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ESTD) and a certified facilitator for Prepare-Enrich Marriage Counseling.
