Parks Youth Ranch

Parks Youth Ranch (PYR) opened its doors in 2011 to provide emergency shelter, counseling, and life changing services to

at-risk and homeless youth ages 7-17. Over ninety-five percent of the child residents are victims of emotional and physical

trauma; most of these children have been abused and neglected by their families and are in need of a safe, supportive, and stable environment.

The Parks Youth Ranch team works diligently to help their child residents overcome these hurdles and meet their immediate housing, food, educational, medical, dental, and mental health needs.

The ranch sits on eight acres of land and has two fully stocked fishing ponds—providing children in crisis the therapeutic effects

of nature and the comforting aesthetics of a family-style ranch home. The primary objectives of both the shelter and counseling center programs are to provide an in-depth assessment of the child’s needs—as a result of recent trauma, neglect or abuse—and to develop a long-term plan of action for stability and positive life change.
