Ovarian Cancer Connection (OCC)

The Ovarian Cancer Connection(OCC) began the journey of raising awarness about ovarian cancer in 2005. Nine determined women met around a small table at Renee's Survivor Shop in Toledo, Ohio. Included in this group were 2 oncology professionals, 5 survivors including one in her 20's, a daughter of a woman who had lost her battle with ovarian cancer and an interested friend.  This group was frustrated by the lack of information available locally about ovarian cancer and the typical delayed diagnosis that leads to more difficult and less successful treatment options.

Our mission is to raise awareness about ovarian cancer, educate the community on the early warning signs of this diseasee and provide financial assistance to women currently in treatment for ovarian cancer.

We have been on a fast track ever since our modest beginnings and by joining forces with the local medical community, new opportunities for ovarian cancer survivors, research and the OCC.  Every dollar raised will stay here  locally to support awareness, education, research and our survivors, a dream we have had since our beginnings in 2005.
