OPSC/CDE/DSA

The Office of Public School Construction (OPSC) is under the authority of the state of California's Department of General Services. As staff to the State Allocation Board, OPSC implements and administers a $42 billion voter-approved school facilities construction program.

 

The California Department of Education oversee the state's diverse public school system, which is responsible for the education of more than six million children and young adults in more than 10,000 schools with 295,000 teachers. We are in charge of enforcing education law and regulations and continuing to reform and improve public school programs.

 

The Division of the State Architect is under the authority of the state of California's Department of General Services and provides design and construction oversight for K–12 schools, community colleges, and various other state-owned and leased facilities. The division also develops accessibility, structural safety, and historical building codes and standards utilized in various public and private buildings throughout the state of California.
