Oneaka Dance Company

Oneaka Dance Company, a Charlotte-based arts enterprise, was began in October 2008 as non-profit Oneaka Collective, Inc. led by Oneaka Mack Saba, current Artistic Director and Choreographer of the company. Later, the Oneaka Dance Company was established as a corporate entity to establish a arts business platform for the Greater Charlotte Area. ODC promotes cultural awareness through teaching, artist development and theatrical productions. Most recent events include: Charlotte African Dance & Drumming Festival 2017, 2016, Distant Relatives: An African Ballet, DR: AfroFusion.

The demand for ODC’s colorful, vibrant and energetic performances has reached corporate America entertaining numerous Fortune 500 Audiences at companies such as Belk, Wells Fargo, Lowe’s, Macy’s, Bank of America and Compass Group. We partner with regional organizations to present dynamic performances at the Mint Museum, Harvey B. Gantt Center, Mecklenburg Government Center, Charlotte Ballet, Jack & Jill America, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.

Under Mrs. Saba's  direction, the performing arts company has performed at numerous international and national festivals such as the Bolokada Conde's 2013 Guinea Tour, LEDEC Cultural Exhange 2014 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, 10th Annual North Carolina African Cultural Celebration, (Raleigh, NC), 2009 Goombay Festival (Asheville, NC), 2010 Lexington Multicultural Festival, 2010 Cheraw African American Arts Festival and the 2009, 2010. The company has also performed at University of Virgiania Diversity Dances 2016, JCSU African Studies Conference, Johnson & Wales, UNC-C and Clemson University.
