NORDIK promotes more sustainable communities through the practice of holistic community development in Northeastern Ontario.
Company Overview
Founded in 2007, NORDIK (Northern Ontario Research Development Ideas Knowledge) Institute evolved out of the Community Economic and Social Development (CESD) Program at Algoma University.
General Information
NORDIK works with communities (First Nations or Municipalities), community organizations, non-profits, and businesses to build their capacity. Capacity building is done through research projects that cycle through a process of planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Promoting more vibrant, caring and sustainable communities through research, dialogue, analysis and reflection dedicated to the practice of holistic community development.
Program evaluation, marketing studies, business planning and cooperative development, strategic planning, community engagement, socio-economic impact studies, community resiliency and sustainability issues, training of community-based researchers.
