NExT Philadelphia: Network of Extraordinary Talent
Formerly the Urban League Young Professionals of Philadelphia, NExT Philadelphia is a network of young professionals (age 21 to 44) who are committed to leadership development, economic empowerment and community volunteer opportunities. The organization trains, develops, and educates young professionals to take leadership roles within the Urban League of Philadelphia, the civil rights movement, and society-at-large. Members of NExT Philadelphia are defining, developing, implementing, and leading the next generation civil rights agenda.
Urban League of Philadelphia
The Urban League of Philadelphia, founded in 1917, is a non-profit, non-partisan, civil rights and community-based movement that provides direct services, research and policy advocacy to help individuals and communities reach their fullest potential. Primarily working with African Americans and other emerging ethnic communities, ULP is an affiliate of the National Urban League, which was founded in 1910 and is the nation’s oldest and largest community-based movement devoted to empowering African Americans to enter the economic and social mainstream. Today, the National Urban League spearheads the non-partisan efforts of nearly 100 local affiliates that provide services to more than 2 million people nationwide.
