National Drug Research Institute, Curtin University

The National Drug Research Institute (NDRI) is one of the largest centres of alcohol and other drug (AOD) research expertise in Australia. NDRI’s aim is to conduct and disseminate high quality research that contributes to the formation of effective policy and practice in relation to the prevention and reduction of harmful AOD use and its consequences.


NDRI is based at Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia, with a satellite office in Melbourne, Victoria. It is supported by core funding from the Australian Government, with additional competitive funds attracted from a range of state, national and international funding bodies. The Institute also receives support from Curtin University.


NDRI is a World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for the Prevention of Alcohol and Drug Abuse.
