NAACP CHICAGO SOUTHSIDE ACT-SO PROGRAM

ACT-SO was designed to recruit, stimulate, improve and encourage high academic and cultural achievements among high school students. In short, we will "act so" that academic and cultural achievers receive the same recognition as athletic excellence; awards are not the primary goal.

ACT-SO is a major youth initiative of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Founded in 1978, by renowned author and journalist, Vernon Jarrett, ACT-SO provides a forum through which African-American youth demonstrate academic, artistic and scientific prowess and expertise, thereby gaining the same recognition often only reserved for entertainers and athletes.

***THIS IS A FUNDRAISER EVENT***

We are sending very talented Chicago Southside youth to National Competition in Atlantic City, NJ (July 2022) to compete against other like minded youth from around the country to gain the GOLD!!!
