Morgan Hill Historical Society

Our mission: To preserve and share the history of Morgan Hill, and it's environs, to inspire a sense of community.

The Morgan Hill Historical Society was established in 1971 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Our purpose is to collect, conserve, interpret and exhibit artifacts and other items associated with the history of Morgan Hill and its environs. We serve as a repository for archival materials to develop educational interest and promote the preservation of sites, landmarks and other historical objects within the community.

We own and operate a 2.5 acre site know as Villa Mira Monte. The site includes Morgan Hill Museum (housed in the historic Acton House which was moved to the site) and Hiram Morgan Hill House (original site and former country home of Hiram Morgan Hill & Diana Murphy-Hill), Centennial HIstory Trail and Rose Gardens. Both homes are over 100 years old and have been restored and preserved to meet the standards of the Registry of National Historic Landmarks.

Morgan Hill Historical Society is managed and operated by an all volunteer organization in partnership with the City of Morgan Hill.
