Modern Widows Club

Modern Widows Club serves to empower women in widowhood to lean into life, build resilience and make a positive difference in the world.

Modern Widows Club orginates from Orlando, FL where the Founder, Carolyn Moor first began to invite widows into her home in 2011 for companionship, mentoring and sharing of resources. She soon became the 'go to' girl when friends and family didn't know how to comfort their grieving loved ones. The chapter grew into the national organization it is today with numerous chapters and over 20 + leaders serving over 20K widows.

Orlando Chapter- all ages, beliefs, ethnics together healing and growing.

Carolyn's History:

Oprah Winfrey Show/ Rabbi Shmuley Boteach ‘America’s Rabbi “You are an extraordinary woman. A true inspiration”,
“She’s a true hero in every sense of the word, but she didn’t know it”

Christi Ashby/ Editor in Chief/ Orange Appeal Magazine Sept/ Oct 2011 Issue "Woman to Watch" and March/April 2014 "Mother's of Reinvention"

"Loss, grief and moving on are things she knows all too well-- which may be why people are drawn to her professionally and personally"

Rosie Wilder~ New Hope for Kids Wish Program , Maitland, FL
“I read the article about MWC.  You were right on target with the process we widows go through.  It will be 22 years for me on Oct. 30.  A day I never forget.  Like you, I was able to become involved in helping, and that moved me from the victim role so easily assumed when tragedy strikes.  I remember being very angry when I attended my first widows meeting—why did I have to be in this terrible place in my life?!  Your illustration of the crooked crown representing the changed life/person and how that could mean helping crooked neighbors with your crooked heart is very poignant.”
