m:lab East Africa

m:lab East Africa is a consortium of four organizations with a vision of becoming the leader in identifying, nurturing and helping to build sustainable businesses in the knowledge economy. The consortium members and their roles are :-

  1. eMobilis, Education, training, accredition and certification.
  2. World Wide Web Foundation – curriculum and content, training and Education
  3. The University of Nairobi School of Computing and Informatics for rigorous academic research
  4. iHub for community interaction, development space, events and access to capital and markets
The consortium accessed a seed grant begin activities in East African and its programs were launched on June 17th, 2011 in its Nairobi Premises on Bishop Magua Centre - a floor beneath the iHub.

Our mission is "to facilitate demand-driven innovation by regional entrepreneurs, ensuring that breakthrough low-cost, high-value mobile solutions can be developed and scaled-up into sustainable businesses that address social and economu needs”.
