Military Outreach Ministries COGIC

Pastor Dennis Eley, Jr., MBA, was born in Youngstown, Ohio. He joined the United States Navy under the Delayed Entry Program in February 1980 and attended Boot Camp at Recruit Training Command, Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Illinois, on July 10, 1980. He received the following awards and accomplishments throughout his 26 years of Naval Service: "Sailor of The Month”, “Supervisor of The Quarter,” “Sailor of The Year” awards, five “Navy Commendation Medals” and was commissioned to Chief Warrant Officer in July 2000. He faithfully served his country while engaging in the following combat missions: "Operation Desert Shield," "Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF)" and "Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)." Several years after retiring from the U.S. Navy, he started a second career with the Department of the Navy, OCHR-SW, as a Human Resource Specialist. Currently, he is working as a Wounded Warrior Coordinator to assist (OEF & OIF) veterans to find federal employment. In this role he still performs today. He provides Federal employment support to wounded warriors, veterans and spouses at career fairs. In addition, he conducts Federal resume writing, Federal employment process workshops and during one-on-one interviews. He also participates in various forums around the nation as a strong advocate for our Wounded Warriors. Dennis and his WW team were recognized for their stellar support of the Wounded Warrior program in the southwest region by the Department of the Navy, Office of Civilian Human Resources, which awarded them the "Community Award for Excellence 2011”. Dennis' interview on, "How Wounded Warriors Can Overcome Barriers to Federal Jobs" was published in the Jobseeker's Guide (6th Ed) by Kathryn Troutman. Pastor Eley is married to the lovely Joyce E. Eley and they have three sons, one daughter and 14 grandchildren. He is an Ordained Elder in the Church Of God In Christ National Church. He worshipped and served at Good Samaritan, Extreme Gospel Center and St. Stephen’s Cathedral COGIC. At St. Stephen’s Cathedral some of his duties included serving as the President of the Elder’s Council and Director of St. Stephen’s Military Ministry. Currently, Senior Pastor of Military Outreach Ministries COGIC. Has a B.S. degree in Human Development and a MBA degree in Leadership.
