Mike Cottrell College of Business

In the Mike Cottrell College of Business, students are challenged to think critically, analyze data, evaluate business cases, and communicate effectively, all to prepare them to compete in today’s business world.  Students are known individually by our faculty, and we have a genuine interest in their success. Students are encouraged to pursue internships and to gain international experience during their tenure here.

In 2006, the Mike Cottrell College of Business received a generous gift from Mike Cottrell; his endowment has allowed the College to develop and sustain excellent programs and opportunities for students and faculty. This gift provides student scholarships and student funding for external opportunities such as international study tours and internships; in addition, the endowment provides faculty funding for research and professional activities. The Center for the Future of North Georgia, which focuses on regional economic development activities, entrepreneurial opportunities, and internships, was established by this endowment.

The Mike Cottrell College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting. AACSB accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education and has been earned by less than five percent of the world's business programs.
