Mercedes Naomi

Ms. Mercedes Naomi is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Diversity Specialist within the federal government where she is responsible for developing and implementing programs and initiatives that will assist towards the overall efforts for building and cultivating an inclusive workforce through outreach, recruitment, workforce development and retention of women.


Mercedes Naomi is an Army Veteran with over 16 years of Federal experience, having served in Oklahoma, The Republic of South Korea, Florida, and Texas. She became a Civilian in 2008.


Mercedes Naomi has successfully counseled leadership and staff on the essential elements of a Model EEO Program, as well as, diversity and inclusion mandates. She is instrumental towards promoting Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and implementing face-to-face annual EEO training that covers topics such as the EEO complaint process, ADR, reasonable accommodation, EEO laws and regulations, the Office of Personnel Management’s New IQ Training and the No FEAR Act.


Mercedes Naomi holds a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from the University of Maryland University College, Yellow Belt from Six Sigma, and is a certified mediator and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) investigator.


Mercedes Naomi also serves as the Founder and Executive Director of The Good News Community Kitchen (TGNCK), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, established to rebuild and strengthen communities by fighting hunger one meal at a time. TGNCK serves the underserved and unsheltered homeless population throughout Northern Virginia and the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan region. TGNCK’s Core Four programs consist of Mobile Meals, Hygiene Heroes, Trends to Transition and Warm Winters.


Mercedes Naomi values a healthy fit-life balance with an emphasis on clean nutrition, meditation, physical training and inner peace. In 2017 she received Sunni in the City’s Women’s Empowerment award.
