Melly Bonita

Stella & Dot Stylist and Inspirational Business Coach

Melly was born into entrepreneurship and has always had an eye for style. She spent her childhood working in her family business, an auto body shop and spent her free time sketching fashions and drooling over glossy magazines. She became known as the “go-to fashionista” for friends and family, helping to style them for special events. Living right outside of New York City, she dreamed of landing a job on Fashion Avenue.

After graduating from NYU, her corporate career led her down a different path and she worked in Public Relations for 18 years, representing consumer brands such as Domino’s Pizza, Kodak, and Apple Computer. It was during those years that she honed in on the art of building relationships to share a product and its story.

Fast forward to 2011 and Melly was living in Miami, raising three kids and working full-time as a PR freelancer. She was invited to a Stella & Dot trunk show at a friend’s house and desperately needed a night out, so she said YES! That fateful night changed her career trajectory forever. She fell in love with everything – the jewelry, the fun and most of all, the mission! She bought earrings and a necklace, and signed up to become a stylist a week later.

The rest is history! Melly eventually replaced her freelance income with her Stella & Dot gig and now leads a team of over 50 women, inspiring them to overcome fears to achieve their dreams and become the best version of themselves while staying true to what matters most.

Melly ranks as one of Stella & Dot’s top salespeople and recruiters in North America. She holds a seat on the company’s “Style Council,” an advisory board of stylists that consults on concepts and designs for future collections. She’s also known as the “official dancer” of Stella & Dot and recently led a room of over 3,000 stylists in a dance break at their national conference. Joy and confidence are her favorite accessories.
