Medgar Evers College Educational Foundation

Established in 1981, the Medgar Evers College Educational Foundation, Inc. exists to provide a full spectrum of fundraising resources which advance the mission of Medgar Evers College.

Founded in 1970 as the result of the collaborative efforts between community leaders, clergy, elected officials and the Chancellor and City University of New York Board of Trustees, the College itself embraces the enduring legacy of civil rights leader Medgar Wiley Evers (1925-1963). It has a mandate to meet the educational and social needs of the Central Brooklyn community. Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York (CUNY), an undergraduate, coeducational, non-residential institution of higher education located in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, is one of 11 senior colleges within the CUNY system. It is a beacon of hope for many residents in the Central Brooklyn community and for immigrants of New York City.
