MCMI PD for K-2 Math Educators

Metro Chicago Mathematics Initiative, Consortium Professional Development

University of Illinois at Chicago, Learning Sciences Research Institute

The Metro Chicago Mathematics Initiative (MCMI) at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) is offering an all-inclusive series of five full-day professional development sessions during the 2016–2017 school year: two for newly-participating teachers and three independent sessions for new or previously-participating teachers combined.

Session 1*: Striving for High-Quality Instruction

Session 2: Developing Early Algebraic Thinking

Session 3*: Looking at Student Work: The Formative Assessment Cycle

Session 4: Building a Bridge to Mathematical Fluency

Session 5: Exploring Measurement and Data

 * Sessions marked with an asterisk are designed specifically for new participants.  All other sessions are for new and previously participating teachers.
