MFDP|SF – Mark Foehringer Dance Project|SF – is a catalyst for professional level contemporary dance based in San Francisco. MFDP|SF was founded in 1996 to promote, produce and develop the work of teacher and choreographer Mark Foehringer. This project-based organization seeks to present original work to a variety of communities on an annual basis..

Over its 24 years, MFDP Ensemble has performed in a wide range of venues for many different audiences with its adaptable repertoire of works. MFDP|SF was selected for two US Public Diplomacy tours under sponsorship of the U.S. Embassy in Perú.

Beyond the contemporary dance and dance theater repertoire, Foehringer’s work for family audiences has received critical acclaim. MFDP|SF engages in educational programs through its mentoring program, Young Choreographers Forum SF.

MFDP|SF produces and presents an annual outdoor event called Dancing in the Park SF in San Francisco’s iconic Golden Gate Park. This event features professional dance company, pre-professional dance programs, community dance groups and San Francisco based dance artists.
