Mark Dannenfelser, Founding Director, The Mindfulness Center of Atlanta

Mark Dannenfelser, MA, MPS, LPC is founding director of the Mindfulness Center of Atlanta and is a licensed professional counselor. He is adjunct lecturer in the graduate division of theology at Spring Hill College. Mark is the Aquinas Center of Theology at Emory University lecturer on Centering Prayer. He is a registered yoga teacher (RYT 200).

Mark has completed the MBSR teacher development intensive training program taught by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Saki Santorelli and senior staff from the Center for Mindfulness (CFM) at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and is a CFM Qualified Teacher of MBSR. He has completed training in the Mindful Schools Curriculum, Yoga Therapy in Cancer & Chronic Illness Professional Training with Integral Teachers Yoga Association, and Clinical Training in Mind-Body Medicine, by Herbert Benson, MD, Mind/Body Medical Institute.


The mission of the Mindfulness Center is to increase the well-being and healing of those experiencing chronic stress and psychological distress, as well as to increase optimal functioning in the areas of health, education and work. The Center teaches evidence-based, integrative, mind-body practices, offered through training courses, intensive retreats, workshops and psychotherapy.
