Marc-Oliver Pahl

I am working on the implementation of Smart Spaces in the real world.

Today, it is possible to build hardware that allows to obtain data about a physical space (e.g. its occupancy), or to change the state of a physical space (e.g. be opening or closing shutters). Such devices that allow remote control via software are called Smart Devices.

My focus is on enabling the software side of a Smart Spaces. That means I work on enabling regular users to write programs to orchestrate their physical spaces with their Smart Devices. This process is called Software Orchestration.

For that purpose I am developing the Distributed Smart Space Orchestration System (DS2OS).
