Mamie Martin Fund

'Story on Bikes 2020' will tell the story of Mamie Martin and visit places in Scotland which are important to that story. You can book onto one or more legs of that ride, each of which is listed as a separate event. As well as cycling legs, we have a fun day at the Kelpies and our final leg into Edinburgh is a family-friendly ride of 14 miles. This is a small-group activity, with a limit of 10 riders on the cycling legs, other than the two family-friendly legs (4A and 7) where we can accommodate more big and little people.

The Mamie Martin Fund was established in 1993 by the family and friends of Mamie Martin, to advance the education of girls in secondary school in North Malawi. This year (2019-20) we pay the fees of, and support, 138 girls across six schools, including six girls at a school for Deaf children in Embangweni. We work with the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia, Mchengautuba Community Day Secondary School in Mzuzu and with the RC Diocese of Karonga.

At least one MMF Trustee visits Malawi each year as part of our governance.
