Macon (GA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated

The Links, Incorporated is a volunteer service organization of philanthropic women established in 1946 in Philadelphia, PA on the pillars of friendship and service.  The Links mission is to enhance the quality of life in the global community, especially for African-Americans and persons of African descent.  Today, The Links consists of nearly 14,000 women in 283 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia, and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.  Links members contribute over 1 million hours of community service each year in its five facet areas – Services to Youth, The Arts, National Trends and Services, International Trends and Services, and Health and Human Services.

The Macon (GA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated was chartered on October 8, 1972 by eight dynamic women who were committed to addressing needs central to the well-being of African-American families in the Macon-Bibb County community.  Entering our 45th year of service, the Macon (GA) Chapter continues to improve the lives of those living in our community through strategic collaborations and funding to address issues including literacy, women’s and children’s health, voter registration, music and arts appreciation, and international outreach in Jamaica.
