Lyne Stokes, MS Ed.

  Lyne Stokes is the State Wide Wellness and Recovery Coordinator at Mental Health Connecticut. She is certified to teach the National Advanced Peer Certification Master Preparation Class.

She has been researching, teaching and designing curriculum in the mental health field and substance use disorder field for over a decade.

 She is a passionate teacher working in the mental health and substance abuse field who enjoys   assisting and motivating individuals in fulfilling their potential for   wellness and recovery. Her strong desire to use her extensive experiential   and educational background provides support to individuals with behavioral health and substance use disorder challenges. Her broad range of experience working   with youth and adults with mental health and behavioral concerns and as a peer   advocate provides hope for each person she meets. Her use of integrative medicine as a tool for recovery oriented services. She is a true human rights advocate that uses her conflict resolution skills to provide equal services for each individual. On a daily basis Lyne incorporates walking, meditation and prayer, healthy nutrition, and spiritual readings into her life.

 She teaching has included private, public and nonprofit sectors.

 Her education includes the Leadership for Managers New England School of Addiction from Antioch University-New England and a Master's of Education from the University of New Haven. She is a certified National Mental Health First Aid Instructor with a supplemental certification in Elderly Adults.

 She was awarded the DMHAS Leadership Award and the KTP Advocacy Leadership Award.

 She believes in learning more than you can teach.

 Her sidekick is Jackie Joy and as an animal assisted therapist the dynamic duo bring loving kindness to each person they meet.
